You bring a fishing license, weather-appropriate clothing, polarized sunglasses, and waders if you have them. ### Do I need a fishing license? Yes. Montana fishing licenses are required for everyone 12 and older. You can buy a 2-day, 10-day, or season license online from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks before your trip. ### What skill level do I need? Any skill level. Tell us your experience when you book and we'll match you with the right guide and water. ### When is the best time to fish in Montana? The Missouri, Flathead, Swan, and Blackfoot fish well from April through October, with hatches and conditions changing through the season. Over the past fifteen years, Andy Guy has been, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the finest outfitters I have ever had the privilege of spending time with. Andy didn't just teach my four sons and my wife how to fish — he taught them how to fish well, with patience, with skill, and with a deep respect for the country he is so privileged to guide. That distinction matters. Anyone can hand you a rod; Andy gives you a way of being on the water. Over the years Andy has become a close friend and, in every way that counts, a member of our family. Some of our most treasured memories of Montana trace directly back to him and to the standard of excellence he brings to everything he does. Words don't quite reach how we feel about Andy — as a guide, as a craftsman, and as a friend. If you ever have the chance to spend a day on the river with him, take it. You won't forget it. > — A longtime family client > If you ever want to fish with a guide who cares more than you do about catching fish and truly cares about your having a wonderful fishing experience. Go out for a day on the river with Andy Guy. You will wish you met him 25 years ago like I did! > — A repeat client > My family and I have been fishing with Andy for over 15 years and can't imagine wanting to spend time on the water with anyone else. Organized, knowledgeable of all the water in western Montana, and great at teaching people of all skill levels to make sure they have a spectacular day on the water, catch some fish, and learn about the place he calls home. If you're heading to Montana and want a solid, low-stress day on the water with someone who really knows their stuff and keeps it fun, I'd absolutely recommend giving Andy a call. > — A longtime client > Andy is an exceptional flyfishing guide. I have fished with him for the past five years, 10–20 days a year, and it is always a pleasure to be on the water with him. He knows where the fish are most likely to be, despite changing water conditions, and what they are eating. He works incredibly hard to get you where the fish are, and the boat always seems to be in the best position to make the cast easier. Andy has a friendly, outgoing personality and can equally entertain with humorous stories or simply enjoy the quiet of the river. I have fished across the U.S., Chile, and New Zealand. Andy is at the top of my list of fishing guides. > — Joel Huff ## Contact - Phone: 406-871-6938 - Email: flyfishin24@yahoo.com - Address: Swan Lake, MT 59911 - Website: [https://andyguyoutfitting.com](https://andyguyoutfitting.com) - [Contact form](https://andyguyoutfitting.com/contact) ## Booking Trips are booked through Brindlechute.
