- What's included in a guided trip?
- Every trip includes a professional guide, drift boat or wade gear, all rods, reels, flies, leaders, and tippet. Full-day trips include lunch and beverages. You bring a fishing license, weather-appropriate clothing, polarized sunglasses, and waders if you have them.
- Do I need a fishing license?
- Yes. Montana fishing licenses are required for everyone 12 and older. You can buy a 2-day, 10-day, or season license online from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks before your trip.
- What skill level do I need?
- Any skill level. Our guides regularly work with first-time anglers as well as experienced fly fishers chasing trophy fish. Tell us your experience when you book and we'll match you with the right guide and water.
- When is the best time to fish in Montana?
- The Missouri, Madison, and Bighorn fish well from April through October, with hatches and conditions changing through the season. Spring offers big streamers and skwalas; summer brings dry fly fishing; fall is famous for brown trout and aggressive streamer action.
- How far in advance should I book?
- Prime weeks (June, July, September) sell out months in advance. We recommend booking as early as possible. Last-minute openings do happen, especially mid-week — call or check availability online.
